Since I couldn't surf, I started shooting lineup photos. The waves were so good, and as torturous as it was, I would go watch the waves every day. I was living a block from the beach at the time, and it was a good winter for surf. As for the surf photography, that started when I blew out my knee in college. But those were mostly just snapshots like anyone would take. So I would say initially, I was just trying to bring home travel mementos in the form of photos. I caught the travel bug before I began shooting photos. What inspired you to begin shooting images? I consider myself very fortunate to have had him and my mom as parents.
